So after my mysterious illness and a cold that followed immediately, I was able to get back to working out after a two week break. It felt SO NICE to have a break!! My run isn't as strong but I'm starting a new workout routine. LESS cardio and a lot more strength training. My arms are tenfold stronger than they were in October when I first joined a gym and hired a trainer.
It always feels weird being the only girl in the weight section of the gym, but truth be told, my form is pretty darn good and I get a chuckle when some guys lift a HEAVY amount of weight but only do, no joke, 2 reps. Ummmmmm??? I get it, you do less reps for heavy weight, but two? How about lower the weight a bit more and try for 5 reps. Can't say I've ever heard 2 being standard.
And I'm proud to say I own it at the gym!! From day one, the "men's area" never intimidated me. I just wish there were more females when I go. Some guys stink, and it'd be nice to have a woman aroma instead of men smell... You know?
Boogie my cat is doing ok. The vet had him on Forti Flora for his loose stools which should have firmed up after his Radiocat treatment. Then he was Metronidazole for 5 days (HUGE pill) and that didn't work. So now we're trying a new diet: Prescription Purina EN. For the 6 lb bag at the tune of $36 it better work!! The vet suggested this over Hills as it has more protein and that will hopefully fill my cats up faster. Hoping that works! The next medicine is Tylon (spelling?) and from the sounds of it, it has a bitter taste and is hard to administer. Greaaatttt...
Tonight I'm going to do Zumba! I only do it once a week since I'm doing weights for 1.5 hours 3x a week. Zumba on Tues and Body/Turbo kick on Thursday. I don't really like the Body/Turbo as much but they don't offer Zumba at my gym Thursday :( I may change it up a bit by going to Zumba Friday, and taking Thursday off, but then I gotta do weights on Sat and typically the gym is packed on Saturday.
Scale finally moved but I'm thinking I'm going to plateau at my current weight for a while again. On average they say a woman can gain 5 lbs of muscle a year. I shouldn't fixate on the scale according to my trainer, and everyone I know says I look so much smaller even though I haven't lost a ton. Weights do help firm the body, just wish the scale was lower. I'm about 8 lbs from my goal weight but I think even when I do reach it, I won't be at my goal. Would love to be 128 but I love food too much...
